What is You Should Be Living?

You Should Be Living is the online portfolio of Jake Johnson, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I focus on creating clean, easy-to-use websites. I partner with clients big and small to create great online solutions and an improved online presence. I strive to create sites are user-centric, keeping the user in mind during all stages of design to ensure that your website isn’t just pretty to look at, but that it is also usable and useful.

Why should I work with you?

I understand the web, and I can help you understand how to use your website to accomplish your vision and goals. Together, we can deploy all the tools as needed, from Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to Twitter and everything in between.

You Should Be Living is just me, so there aren’t the layers that a typical agency or design studio has. There’s no overhead, everything’s already paid for. Every dollar you spend goes right to your website.

I keep the number of projects we’re working on at one time very small. In fact, I prefer to work with one client at a time, so you get all the attention. You won’t be left feeling like you’re not important.

What’s with the name?

We get too busy. If we’re not careful, we miss out on what’s really important in life. The phrase “you should be living” reminds me that I should take the time to enjoy my life, to live in the moment, and hopefully it reminds you too. (Its also the title of an album by the now-defunct band 238 released back in 2002.)

Ok, I’d like to work with you. How do we get started?
